People give Friday too much credit. It is a work day for most, just like Monday through Thursday. But like most overrated things, it is all about the position it holds.
Friday has the unenviable connection to Friday the 13th, though. Nobody loses their mind overt Tuesday the 13th.

Robinson Crusoe had a helper whose name was Friday. I wonder if Crusoe got into severe trouble and Friday showed up, did he ever utter "T.G.I.F"?
On the old TV show Dragnet, there was a Sgt. Friday. There was also an actress named Tuesday Weld and a character named Wednesday on the Addams Family--I don't know if their shows appeared on Friday, Tuesday and Wednesday, but it would have been funny if they did.
