Senator Blowhard was addressing his constituency after conceding his primary loss to his less seasoned opponent. "While we came up short, we fought a valiant fight together. And I want all of you to know that your faith in me over the last several years has been very much appreciated. I may have lost tonight, but together we did a whole lot of good! Together, we took on big issues and won! Together, we made this a better state! Together, we beat the odds!
From the back of the room a voice boomed, "But, you alone were caught in a frilly dress in a hotel room with a million in cash, a bag of cocaine, and a VERY young intern!"
In the awkward silence that followed, Senator Blowhard took a deep breath and said, "You'll have to excuse my wife, she does speak her mind."
