The trees in the nursery were talking among themselves and decided that they needed to have some sort of theme party to welcome the changing of the seasons and liven things up a bit."I know," said the elm tree, "Why don't we have a costume party and we can come as our favorite "alternative" tree!"
The oak tree thought it was acorn-y idea.
The lemon tree soured to it.
The maple tree thought it was sappy and threw some shade.
The dogwood thought the elm was barking up the wrong tree.
However the pine and the fir trees cone of liked the idea.
Finally, they took it to a vote and it was decided by one vote--As it so aspen-ed, they had to do it by poplar demand!
