An entomologist was studying the behavior of a rare South American moth that secreted a sticky substance. The moths would drop and roll around on the ground and the secretions made things stick to it. He noted his curiosity that pollen and other light substances stuck to these moths, but heavier things like pebbles and gravel did not. In his notes he recorded, "In my observations, I have concluded that a rolling moth gathers no stones."
